Water Wheel

Water Wheel is a modulised water carrying and disinfecting tool for remote areas with water supply difficulties. When people ( often children ) from a village have to got off to collect water, they carry heavy buckets on their heads, weighing them down. Over time they end up injuring their backs and necks from the physical stress.

Water Wheel turning "Child Labor" into productive fun by simply just being walked on. A Water Wheel consisted with 12 modules, which are made out of LLDPE, can transports 120 litres of water at once.

These 12 modules can be built up a water wall outside of the dwellings and exposed to the sun after transported home. For the high optical quality of LLDPE, water in the every single module is disinfected by UV radiation and becomes drinking water after 7 hours. In the night time, water warmed by the sun during the day can be moved indoor to maintain the room temperature.
