Hybrid Squared

Hybrid2 is a systematic design reflecting to the needs of cities in the near future. Through pedaling from point A to B, users receive credits in city travel card, which can be used for other public transportation means, based on the offsetting the energy they generate to feed Hybrid Electric Buses ( the position of Bike Station assigned to be next to Bus Stops can feed Hybrid Buses stopping by). To achieve this system, the boundary between the unit for energy the unit for money is blurred ; Three elements, a semi-regenerative braking technology for bicycles to scavenge lost energy, folding handlebars which works as a bridge between bikes and grids, and H stands playing the role as self-sustained docking points, are designed to complete this system.

Hybrake

Hybrake is a combination of dynamo brakes and drum brakes. When slightly press the brake lever, the dynamo brake gives the maximum output and generates maximum drag to slow users down by switching the circuit through the position sensor. Concerning the issue of safety, when users press the brake lever harder, the drum brake involves the braking process.

Folding Handlebar

When connected to the H Stand, energy stored underneath Hybrake is transferred to the Smart Grid (independent to international grid) and ready to feed Hybrid Buses passing by. At the mean time, by folding the handlebar down, users can lock the bike with the H Stand, with itself, or with the existing bike rack temporarily.

H Stand

The design of H Stand follows the same spirits of the whole system, energy generating and reducing. Thus the solar panel is equipped. The open shape can prevent people from locking their private bike with public bikes spaces. The position of card reader can avoid the rain to get in.
